The recent scandal surrounding Pennsylvania State University left a stain on the legacy of one man, and another stain on the reputation of a program. Being a Penn State fan my whole life, seeing Joe Paterno go out the way he did broke my heart. The public's view of Paterno and the Penn State football program went down the tubes, and America was left in a sense of daze, asking; did all this really happen?
From what I listened to in this podcast, a reporter for TAL was talking about how she was walking around town, telling herself and others they would not talk about the alleged child abuse, but everywhere she went the topic came up. She said she would talk for over 15 minutes about thoughts and reactions related to the scandal.
The scandal took America by storm, with some angry of Paterno's firing, and others who condemned the University. Either way, this podcast really captured the feelings of State College, Pennsylvania, as well as the country.
