The third section of Faithful entails the mid-season stretch that can either make or break a season. In baseball, the stretch usually occurs throughout the whole month of august and that month can give a great indication of the outcome of the season.
In the Red Sox case, the month was all the Red Sox Nation could ask for, and more. Going 21 and 7 for a month is almost unheard of in major league baseball. A whole season of that would put a team at 121 wins out of 162, easily an all time record. This unbelieveable stretch really showed what the team was made of, and most certainly gave them the right mindset for the upcoming playoffs, only a month away.
It was jubilation in the Red Sox Nation after the month. There were signs for "Reverse the Curse" the 86 year old curse of the Bambino that haunted Sox fans everywhere. People were actually starting to believe, and the end product would end up being amazing.
